Duma - July 2011

Our little leopard Duma has grown considerably over the last couple of months and put on quite a bit of weight! Normally very slight and slender for a leopard, Duma has developed a big belly. 

Recently a male wild leopard has been spotted several times hanging around the camps of Duma, Shakira and Ombeli. Duma is also on heat at the moment and rarely comes when called for her daily feed. All this led to worried speculation that Duma could be pregnant. However, we are now certain that Duma is actually just turning a little podgy - it must be all the horse heads she’s been getting!
